I love design. I love producing it and enjoy seeing when it's well done by others. There are many talented people out there producing great work. That's the main reason it breaks my little designer's heart to see bad design out there. It doesn't have to be that way.
What makes me qualified to write on this subject? I am a NY-based freelance graphic designer with many years experience in the field. I went to a great art school. But most of all, I'm the kind of person who gets distracted by the fonts on the menu of a restaurant. I usually judge a movie by the use of type in the opening sequence. I am more likely to buy something if I really like the logo. I have been known to dream in HTML.
I do this, so you don't have to.
I can't bring about world peace or end hunger. I can only do my small part to make it a little easier on the eyes out there on the Internet.
